SCULPTING
A MORE BEAUTIFUL YOU

Derived from fruit acids, Sculptra is a biocompatible and biodegradable injectable material known as L-polylactic acid that stimulates the natural production of collagen. It is not a filler, per se. The results take longer to achieve, but tend to last 2-3 years.

On either the face, neck, or décolleté, the number of treatments required is determined with you at our first meeting. Usually Sculptra is injected in 3 treatment sessions over a period of 3-4 months at intervals of 4-6 weeks. During this period, sagginess diminishes, creating a youthful appearance as tissue becomes firmer with your own collagen production. Lines and folds also diminish as volume improves in the face. We advise to vigorously massage treated areas for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days after each treatment to ensure uniform distribution of product and provide natural-looking results. Collagen production is gradual so each treatment session will bring more significant results.

TREATMENT
  • Each treatment session lasts 20 to 30 minutes on average, depending on the number of areas treated and the effect you want to achieve
  • Ideal for younger patients who have a greater capacity to build their own collagen
  • Great results for patients with thinner faces
  • Creates great scaffolding and structure for face
  • Can be combined with Hyaluronic Acid filler at any time
  • Results start in 4 weeks and may require 3 months.
  • Results may last 2-3 years
MORE ABOUT SCULPTRA

Sculptra injections generally cause only mild discomfort. To compensate, we often use a local anesthetic. Though Sculptra is injected into the tissue of your face, the doses are small and the syringes ultrafine. The product is in liquid form (not a gel as fillers). The amount injected averages 2-4 teaspoons.

The basic substance consists of Poly L Lactic Acid which has been used in medicine for decades. In particular, this substance has been used to make “absorbable” sutures and other soft tissue implants.

When performed by a trained physician, undesirable effects are usually temporary and minimal, but may include redness, mild bruising, bleeding, bumps, tenderness, pain or swelling. In general these last for 1-15 days.

Sometimes, very small papules are subcutaneous palpable but invisible in the treated area. They disappear over time.

MOST COMMONLY TREATED AREAS
  • Jawline
  • Neck
  • Décolleté (diluted)
  • Temples
  • Midface lift
FOR MEN, TOO.

Volume is the name of the game. Poly-l lactic acid (Sculptra) can give the best, most long lasting results of all injectables on the market. Men preferring a more gradual change that lasts longer are often recommended a treatment with Sculptra.
